Bio
Courtney Hinton is a Washington, DC–based singer, songwriter, voice artist, entrepreneur, and Organized Creative. Influenced by Soul, R&B, and Pop, she released her debut EP, The Courtney Hinton Experience, in 2024. Inspired by soulful house music, her sound combines uplifting messages with vibrant rhythms that invite listeners to celebrate joy, connection, and possibility.
Courtney has performed throughout the Washington, DC area and held a weekly residency at Matchbox in 2024. In 2025, she performed in the WorldPride Parade and continues to sing soprano with Unity of Washington, DC's choir. She has also provided background vocals for fellow artists in the region.
Since 2012, Courtney has led Designs by Courtney H, a creative marketing and operations consultancy, and spent five years running the business as her full-time endeavor. Affectionately known as the "Jill of All Skills," she has built a multifaceted career that includes operations management, communications, and public health work as an HIV Tester and Counselor and Community Health Worker.
Grounded by her values of community, play, accountability, and excellence, Courtney believes creativity is not limited to art—it is a way of solving problems, serving others, and bringing people together. Whether performing, collaborating, or creating behind the scenes, she brings heart, intention, and a spirit of possibility to everything she does.
